This is the greatest vintage photo-series ever. Douglas Campbell (1912-2007) was an amateur photographer and observer of life. His family has undertaken to digitize his collection of 35mm slides (30,000+ spanning a period of 50 years). This “Show” is the family’s tribute to his ability, energy and enthusiasm.

I’m fond of the pictures of his wife, standing in the loveliest landscapes, wearing her red coat, posing for him, usually with her back towards the camera, unsure if she’s really fond of being part of the picture.

Campbell3Oregon Trail ruts, near Vale, OR (1992).

Campbell2Callander (1958).

Browse trough the albums or try searching for “landscape person tree”.
